This presentation is the third in a series about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and its treatment.

The goal of this presentation is to provide the participants with practical information and knowledge on how to improve their implementation of ERP, both within and between therapy sessions. It will focus on the nuances of treatment, and will include significant time spent on troubleshooting difficult situations and clients. Additionally, this presentation will present additional, evidence-based ways to “supercharge” ERP, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and inhibitory learning theories.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn how to create a fear hierarchy and how to design and develop effective exposures and treatment plans for client with OCD.
  • Structure a typical ERP session and how to provide flexible, yet evidence-based treatment within each session.
  • Review some of the most common difficulties new ERP therapists experience and how to troubleshoot these issues.

Stacey Dobrinsky, PhD

Dr. Stacey Dobrinsky has over ten years of experience treating children and adolescents with OCD and anxiety disorders. She was a founding faculty member of the McLean OCD Institute for Children and Adolescent program (OCD Jr.) and ultimately served as the Clinical Director. Stacey specializes in severe, treatment refractory anxiety and OCD while utilizing a combination of Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) in her treatment.

She has been trained through the International OCD Foundation’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) and has completed the Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) training. She is also certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD. Stacey has given multiple presentations on OCD, Anxiety and ACT, both locally and nationally.
