Jayne Dempsky

Founder of School Avoidance Alliance

Jayne Dempsky founded the School Avoidance Alliance after her son’s struggle with school avoidance due to severe anxiety and depression. Starting in 2009, with limited resources and prevailing mental health stigma, she navigated various challenges before her son recovered. Motivated to help others, she began sharing resources through SchoolRefusalHope.org. In 2020, she expanded her efforts to work closely with schools and mental health professionals, forming the School Avoidance Alliance to support families and improve the lives of children facing similar issues.
