This advanced webinar delves into obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), focusing on its assessment, diagnosis, symptomatology, and subtypes.

The primary emphasis is on in-depth exploration of exposure response prevention (ERP), the proven evidence-based treatment for OCD. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the ERP process, including the creation of fear hierarchies, the design of effective exposures, and the development of robust treatment plans. The training also provides practical instruction on composing ERP sessions that focus on flexible and creative evidence-based interventions. Preparation for troubleshooting common challenges faced by beginning ERP therapists is also emphasized. Case examples illustrating the application of ERP strategies will ensure participants are able to effectively implement ERP in their clinical practice.

Learning Objectives

  • Attain proficiency in creating fear hierarchies, designing effective exposure exercises, and preparing treatment plans tailored for clients with OCD.
  • Innovate and conduct ERP sessions integrating flexibility and creativity, while adhering to evidence-based practices.
  • Identify and address common challenges encountered by newly practicing ERP therapists, including strategies to troubleshoot and resolve these issues.
