Jessica Schaffer is a Master of Social Work candidate with clinical experience in individual and group therapy for children. Her therapy method emphasizes guidance and support to parents and families. She has also led therapy groups teaching strategies for managing emotions, building social skills, and resolving conflicts. Jessica integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI) into her approach.
In her spare time, Jessica enjoys spending time with family and friends, going on walks, and painting. These activities help her stay present and find small pockets of peace throughout her day.
Her Inspiration:
I have struggled with anxiety since childhood, often feeling a knot in my chest and worrying about the future. Through therapy, I learned strategies to reframe my thoughts. I remind myself of Robert Frost’s quote, “the only way out is through,” and strive to help others challenge their worries so anxiety doesn’t dominate their lives.
