Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often misunderstood, with myths and misconceptions leading to misdiagnosis and ineffective treatment.
While many associate OCD with contamination fears and checking compulsions, the disorder presents in diverse and complex subtypes, including harm OCD, relationship OCD, existential OCD, and sensorimotor OCD. Without a clear understanding of these variations, clinicians may struggle to differentiate OCD from related conditions, impacting treatment outcomes.
This 90-minute webinar will provide mental health professionals with a deeper understanding of OCD subtypes, diagnostic challenges, and evidence-based interventions. The discussion will explore how OCD symptoms can manifest across different domains, how myths contribute to stigma and treatment barriers, and how clinicians can refine their approach using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and other strategies tailored to specific subtypes.
Co-hosted by Anxiety Institute and Instride Health, this session will equip professionals with practical tools to improve diagnostic accuracy and treatment effectiveness.
