Tyler Peterson brings multifaceted clinical and supervisory skills to Anxiety Institute. Tyler graduated from Rutgers University with his Bachelor’s in Psychology followed by his Master’s Degree in clinical social work soon after. With over 10 years of clinical work experience in intensive outpatient and outpatient treatment programs, Tyler primarily served children, teenagers, and young adults conducting individual, group, and family therapy. As a clinical coordinator, he was responsible for administrative oversight and supervision of his staff. He is a consummate communicator who ensures all stages of client care are monitored and measured, and all team members are working together effectively.
Tyler uses a person-centered approach tailored to the unique needs of each individual and family, by calling on his expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy, brief solution-based therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. A foundation of his practice is to normalize the experience of receiving therapy to reduce barriers in the therapeutic process as clients begin their journey of self-discovery and healing. The goal is always to assist clients in managing life’s stressors while strengthening their ability to cope with personal challenges and maintain a healthy, prosperous lifestyle.
His Inspiration:
Throughout my adolescence and early adulthood, I witnessed the obstacles my friends and family faced when seeking support for their anxiety. I experienced firsthand the adverse impact that had on their personal, social, and academic lives. For these reasons, I chose a profession that provides support to people on their therapeutic journeys. I plan to use my abilities to work collaboratively with clients ensuring they feel capable of meeting their goals and aspirations.
