About Our Presenters

Emily Cannon, Director of Executive Functioning and Special Education Services & Jessica Gorlin, Director of Community Outreach and Partnerships, Private Prep

Emily Cannon is an experienced educator and Executive Function Coach with nearly a decade of experience in NYC high schools and seven years in coaching. She specializes in supporting students with ADHD, ADD, learning disabilities, and anxiety by focusing on executive functioning skills, mindfulness, and academic and social-emotional development. Emily’s expertise includes time management, stress management, self-advocacy, and goal setting. She holds a Master of Education in Special Education and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Emily is passionate about helping students create positive routines and mindset shifts for long-term success.

Jessica joined Private Prep in 2014 after spending many years as a classroom teacher and specialist. She holds a Master of Education as a Reading Specialist as well as a Language Arts Supervisory Degree. First starting out as the Private Prep NYC Director, then starting and growing the NJ market, Jessica now oversees Community Outreach and Partnerships for the tristate area. She brings her passion and enthusiasm for education, which runs deep in her family, along with relationship building and innovation to cultivate and foster unique partnerships that holistically meets the needs of the learners from the individual school and organization.
