A new Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for young adults ages 17-25, at our McLean, Virginia location!

Press Release

We are thrilled to announce that the Anxiety Institute has received its license to offer our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) to young adults at our McLean, Virginia location!

This significant milestone allows us to extend our comprehensive, specialized care to young adults struggling with anxiety and OCD.

In addition to our young adult IOP, we continue to offer our Intensive Outpatient Program for adolescents aged 12 to 17.

Our programs are specifically designed for those struggling with moderate to severe anxiety or OCD who have not progressed with weekly therapy alone. Our goal is to help clients reintegrate into academic or career pursuits and enjoy a fulfilling social life.

Daily Treatment Includes:

Individual Therapy:

Individual, one-to-one therapy including exposure-focused cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and may integrate acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing and emotion-focused therapy.

Exposure Response Prevention Therapy:

Using principles of evidenced-based CBT, our Exposure Coaches work with clients to practice skills and strategies learned in therapy until they become habit.

Group Therapy:

Group therapy is facilitated by our trained clinicians using curated curriculum to educate the group on bio-psycho-social experience of anxiety and strategies to improve anxiety across these domains.

Wellness:

A Wellness hour is critical to enabling clients to participate in activities outside their comfort zone, bond with other clients, process intensive clinical work, and learn new skills. Wellness is comprised of expressive creative arts, yoga, meditation, music, physical exercise, and daily living skills.

Comprehensive Care:

Clients benefit from personalized attention, parent support, and family therapy, along with advanced treatments such as virtual reality and EMDR.

Structured Schedule:

The program runs Monday through Friday, over 6-12 weeks, depending on symptom severity. Each day includes four hours of intensive therapy, enabling clients to achieve their full potential.

Collaborative Approach:

We work closely with existing psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to provide collaborative, continuous care for our clients.

Outcomes

Our clients have experienced significant reductions in anxiety and depression symptoms, improved life satisfaction, and increased hope for the future. We invite you to refer clients who may benefit from these transformative programs.

“My personal knowledge and experience of anxiety and fear, as a victim and as a conqueror, has gifted me the valuable asset of emotional intelligence. Knowledge and experience that will give me the empathy to connect with others and the grit to overcome adversity.”
